Lacey wood fired cup

Mysterious and dark, this clay got metallic and almost purple-brown in the wood firing. The lace I carved around the edge blended in more than I expected but I think the effect is quite striking. There is some orange-peel like texture in the surface as a result of the ash and atmosphere in the kiln.
I love the dippy effects on the inside of this cup, and how the glaze pools into green glass at the bottom!
